Bogra: Miscreants hacked to death a youth named Wazed Hossain Jhantu (30) in Bogra Sadar Upazila.

The incident took place at Bhatkandi Bridge area of ​​the upazila around 9 am on Saturday (September 3).

Jhantu is the son of Afzal Hossain of Bhatkandi Purbapara area of ​​Sadar Upazila. He was a tiler by profession.

According to local sources, Jhantu caught fish from a reservoir in Bhatkandi area in the morning. After leaving the fish at home, he was having breakfast at Manik’s hotel in Bhatkandi Bridge area. At that time some miscreants entered the hotel and surrounded him. They hacked him with sharp weapons for taking fish from the reservoir without informing them and left him behind. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (Shajimek) Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.

Sadar police station sub-inspector (SI) Bedar Uddin said that the exact cause of the murder is not yet known. No locals are speaking up. It is heard that the killings may have taken place over a dispute over fishing.
