Dhaka: Stormy winds may blow temporarily in 7 regions of the country including Dhaka. As a result, all the river ports in these areas have been asked to show the number one warning signal.
Dhaka Meteorological Office has given such a forecast on Saturday (September 3) afternoon.
Meteorologist Md. Manowar Hossain said, 45-60 km per hour from south/south-east over Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong and Sylhet regions. Rain/Thundershower with gusty/gusty winds at times. All river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1 (re) 1.
At present, the axis of monsoon extends over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northwestern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere in northern Bay of Bengal.
In this situation, light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds may occur temporarily in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and many places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions till Sunday (September 4) morning. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.
Meanwhile, mild heat flow is currently prevailing over Jessore and Chuadanga districts and may subside. Day and night temperatures will remain almost unchanged across the country.
The highest rainfall in the country in the previous 24 hours from 11 am on Saturday was at Sitakunda, 119 mm. The maximum temperature recorded at Chuadanga was 36.5 degrees Celsius. Dhaka received 22 mm of rain, and the maximum temperature was 34.7 degrees Celsius.
