Dhaka: The High Court has issued a ruling seeking to know why the defendants should not be directed to issue a new e-passport to singer Asif Akbar.
On Thursday (September 1), Justice Zafar Ahmed and Justice Md. Akhtaruzzaman High Court bench issued the rule.
Within two weeks, the Home Secretary, Director General of Immigration and Passports, Additional Director General (Passport, Visa and Immigration), Director (Administration and Finance), Director (e-Passport Project), Director (Divisional Visa and Passport Office, Dhaka), Joint Director (Regional Passport Office, Rs.) has been asked to respond to the rule.
Asif’s lawyer Sajjad Haider and lawyer M Anisuzzaman.
Vocalist Asif Akbar filed a writ in the High Court regarding the incident of not being able to apply at the passport office. A writ was filed in the concerned branch of the High Court on August 23.
Asif applied for a new e-passport on November 11 last year. But it has not been given yet. So he wrote.
