A fire broke out on the eighth floor of the Dhaka North City Corporation office. Four fire service units are working to control the fire.

Rashed Shikder, the duty officer of the control room of the fire service, said that the fire broke out at 7:08 a.m. on Thursday (September 1).

He said, four units of fire service were sent after receiving information about the fire on the eighth floor of the North City Corporation office.

Initially, the fire service official could not give any information about the cause of the fire and casualties.

It is said that the office of Mayor Atiqul Islam is in the eighth floor. Smoke is being released by breaking the glass of this building.

Meanwhile, the fire service did not give information about the control of the fire, but the notification sent by DNCC public relations officer Maqbool Hossain informed that the fire is completely under control.

He said that between 7:10 and 15:00 this morning, the fire started due to a short circuit from the electrical control room near the elevator on the eighth floor of DNCC. A very small part of the ceiling caught fire, leaving the entire floor covered in smoke. However, work is going on to break some of the glasses near the reception and in front of the eighth floor to get out the smoke.

A DNCC public relations officer added that a fire service team is on the ground, trying to find the exact source of the fire. No major damage has been done so far.
