Dhaka: Approval has been given to appoint four German firms as consulting firms for the Bay-Terminal construction project in Chittagong.
On Wednesday (August 31) at noon, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal chaired the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement meeting to approve the proposal.
At the end of the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division. Abdul Barik gave the details of the proposal and told the reporters that if a total of 15 proposals were presented including the proposals raised on the table in today’s purchase committee, all the proposals were approved.
The Additional Secretary said that four German organizations have been jointly appointed as consultants in the ‘Bay Terminal Construction’ project by the Chittagong Port under the Ministry of Shipping. The companies are Sellhorn, WSP, KS and Aqua. The total cost will be 51 crore 29 lakh 99 thousand 999 taka.
Other proposals approved in the meeting are – Construction of 3 underpasses and Paduar Bazar Intersection Uloop construction project by the Directorate of Roads and Public Ways of the Road Transport and Highways Department jointly with National Development Engineers Limited and Hasan Techno Builders Limited. 289 crores and 75 lakhs have been approved for purchase.
Besides, the Bangladesh Water Development Board under the Ministry of Water Resources has approved the revised procurement proposal of Tk 154 crore 43 lakh 12 thousand 547 by reducing the cost of Tk 21 crore 14 lakh 23 thousand 391 for the variation of the completion work of the ‘Kumar river re-dredging (first revised)’ project.
