Bangladesh women’s team wants to start the T20 series with a win against India

Dhaka, April 27, 2024 (BASS): Bangladesh women’s cricket team will face mighty India tomorrow (Sunday) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, aiming to start the five-match Twenty20 series with a win.
India will start the series as favourites. However, Bangladesh fought evenly with India in the last series at home.
Indian women won the three-match T20 series 2-1 in the tour of Bangladesh last year. Bangladesh won one match in the series. Which was Tigresses’ second win against India in this format. After the T20, Bangladesh ended the series with a 1-1 draw with India by dramatically tying the third match of the three ODIs.
In all, India and Bangladesh have faced each other in 13 matches. India has won 11 of them.
Bangladesh is under pressure after losing six matches in a row against Australia recently. They were whitewashed by the Aussies in the three-match ODI and T20I series.
The last tour of Bangladesh was quite eventful for India. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur broke the stump with the bat after getting out in the last ODI. Later he criticized the poor umpiring. In the end the match was tied.
In that series, Harmanpreet raised his finger at the umpire Tanveer Ahmed. He was not kept in the umpiring panel in this series.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti and India captain Harmanpreet unveiled the trophy of the five-match T20I series in front of historic Ali Amzad watch on the banks of Surma river in Sylhet (next to Keen Bridge).
