He said this while addressing the chief guest at the first session of the General Conference and Central Council of Bangladesh Tanchangya Welfare Association at Wagga High School grounds of Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati at 10:30 am today (April 26).
The chief guest in his speech also said that the tradition, dress, culture and culture of the Tanchangya community living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts are very rich. These should be retained. In order not to lose these, all must work together.
Inaugural speech at the conference was given by Chittagong Hill Tracts reserved female MP Gyorwati Tanchangya. He said that through the conference, I hope that new leadership will come and nurture, promote and spread the culture, tradition and culture of Tanchangya community.
Convener of Bangladesh Tanchangya Welfare Association and Rangamati Zilla Parishad member Diptimoy Talukder presided over by Najib Kumar Tanchangya and Rangamati Zilla Parishad Chairman Angsuiproo Chowdhury, Bandarban Zilla Parishad member Kanchan Joy Tanchangya, Rangamati Zilla Parishad member Angsuichain Chowdhury, Khagrachari Zilla Parishad member were present as special guests. Ujjal Tanchangya, Member Secretary of Bangladesh Tanchangya Welfare Organization gave the welcome speech. A mesmerizing cultural program was held at the beginning of the discussion session performed by Tanchangya artists.
Thousands of Tanchangya community people from different upazilas of Chittagong Hill Tracts and Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar district were present in the conference.
Earlier, the Chief Guest and Inaugural inaugurated the conference by hoisting the national flag, party flag and balloon.
Meanwhile, the council session was held in the second session of the conference.
