Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajira-Klaucha-Uuya and Queen Suthida Vajrasudha-Bimala-Lakshan of Thailand. They met at the Amphorn Southern Throne Hall of the Thai King’s Dusit Palace in Bangkok on Thursday (April 25).

Prime Minister’s Press Wing said, during the meeting, they exchanged skills and discussed various bilateral issues.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to Thailand on Wednesday on a six-day official visit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Sretha Thavisin.

The Prime Minister attended the 80th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNSCAP) on Thursday morning.

During the visit till April 29, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will hold bilateral talks with the Prime Minister of Thailand Thavisin. Bangladesh and Thailand will sign a number of cooperation documents, including a letter of interest to negotiate a free trade agreement between the two countries.

Bangladesh and Thailand are likely to sign an agreement on visa exemption for government passport holders, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on energy cooperation and two more MoUs on cooperation in the tourism sector and mutual cooperation on customs to expand ties.
