A Bangladeshi named Abul Kalam Daku (20) was killed in firing by Indian Border Guard Force BSF at Patgram border of Lalmonirhat.
The incident took place on Friday at around 4 am on the responsible border of Jhalangi BGB camp of Teesta 61 BGB battalion 150 yards of sub pillar number 9 of main pillar number 848 inside India by a member of BSF patrol team of 169 BSF battalion Doradabri camp.
The deceased Abul Kalam is the son of Apir Uddin of Dangapara area of Srirampur Union.
According to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police sources, Abul Kalam left his home at around 11 pm on Thursday and went to bring Indian cows to the border along with some people. At that time, members of the patrol team of Doradabri camp of BSF fired at them. When Kalam was seriously injured, his companions rescued him. Later, when he was admitted to Patgram Upazila Health Complex, the doctor declared him dead.
Naib Subedar Nurul Amin, in-charge of Jhalangi camp of 61 BGB battalion, said that a spot meeting between Teesta Battalion-2 and 169 BSF battalion commandants at a place called Pocket Para near Jhalangi BOP border pillar 848/9S from 9:25 am to 9:40 am on Friday morning. held
In this regard, Patgram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Said said that the body of the deceased has been sent to the morgue for investigation.
