A student of Motijheel Ideal School died after being hit by a city corporation’s garbage truck in the capital’s Mugaday.
SI Zainal Abedin of Mugda police station said that this 13-year-old boy died after being hit by a garbage truck of Dhaka South City Corporation on his way to his friend’s house in Madina Bagh area of Mugda on Thursday night.
Mahin Ahmed, a seventh grade student at Motijheel Ideal School and College, is from Kishoreganj Bajitpur Upazila. Mahin used to live in a rented house with his family at uncle and nephew’s street in Mugaday.

Mahin’s brother Mahfuz Ahmed told bdnews24.com, “Mahin left the house to go to a friend’s house. While walking, he was hit by a city corporation garbage truck. Mahin was hit by the truck and got seriously injured.
“He was rescued and taken to Mugda General Hospital first. Later, at 10:30 PM, Mahin died while under treatment after being taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. Bachchu Mia said that Mahin’s dead body has been kept in the hospital morgue. The accident was reported to the concerned police station.
SI Zainal Abedin of Mugda police station said that the truck driver of South City Corporation has been arrested in this incident.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical Police Outpost said that a woman died in another road accident in the capital on Thursday. Bachchu Mia said.
He said that the 60-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car while crossing the road in Ghunti Ghar area of Ghandaria around 3:30 am.
“Pedestrians rescued him and brought him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 4 am on Friday.”
Inspector Bachchu Mia said that the identity of the deceased woman is not yet known.
He also said that the dead body of the woman has been kept in Dhaka Medical College hospital morgue and the matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
