Bangladesh-China military drills in May, India to watch

Saleh Revolution: [২] This is going to be the first joint military exercise between the two countries. A contingent of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will travel to Bangladesh in early May to participate in joint exercises based on the agreement of China and Bangladesh, Xinhua reported in a report citing the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.

[৩] Spokesperson of China’s Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Wu Qian, said that the name of the joint military exercise to be held with the Bangladesh Army is ‘Golden Friendship-2024’.

[৩.১] He said the joint exercise will model the anti-terror operations of UN peacekeeping forces and emphasize anti-kidnapping and elimination of terrorist hideouts.

[৩.২] Colonel Wu Qian said that the Chinese and Bangladeshi military forces are going to organize such an exercise to conduct joint training for the first time. It will strengthen mutual understanding and friendship and deepen exchanges and cooperation.

[৪] Regarding this exercise, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India Randhir Jaiswal said that India will keep an eye on the exercise.

[৫] On Thursday, he said, we have informed many times about this matter. We keep an eye on all kinds of events in our neighboring states or elsewhere. Especially those events that may affect our economy and security. We also take necessary steps in all those matters.
