Chittagong: Syed Md. for the crime of cutting and selling soil from the place adjacent to the dam of Dhurung Canal in Fatikchari. A mobile court sentenced a youth named Manjur Alam to 15 days imprisonment.
The raid was conducted in the Dhurung Khal area of Sundarpur Union of Fatikchari Upazila on Thursday (April 25) around 1:00 p.m.
Phatikchari Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mejbah Uddin told Banglanews, Syed Md. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. for the crime of cutting the top soil of agricultural land before Manjur Alam. Mozammel Haque Chowdhury was accused in the operation and fined 50 thousand taka.
As the crime of the person was proved in this operation, according to Balumhal and Soil Management Act, 2010, he was sentenced to 15 days without labor imprisonment and another 7 days without labor imprisonment without paying a fine of 50,000.
After the legal process, the accused has been sent to Chittagong Jail.
A team of Fatikchari police station, Ansar members, land office staff and local residents assisted in the operation. Such operations will continue in public interest.
