Five people including a father and son were killed in three separate accidents in Sylhet and Satkhira.

These lives were lost on the road from Thursday afternoon to night; Out of which two in Satkhira were motorcycle accidents.

Two people died in a collision between a stone-carrying truck and a passenger auto-rickshaw in Companyganj upazila of Sylhet. At this time, four others were injured.

Companyganj police station OC Golam Dastgir Ahmad said that the accident took place at Gaurinagar area of ​​the upazila on the Sylhet-Bholaganj highway at 8:30 pm on Thursday.

The deceased are Harunur Rashid (40), son of Motalib Mia of Lubia village of Chatak upazila and Partha Saha (23), son of Ranojit Saha of Bisharpasha village of Kamalakanda upazila of Netrakona.

Lived in Dayar Bazar of Perth Upazila.

The injured are – Shah Alam (40), son of deceased Maina Mia of Par village of Nayagang, Companyganj, Nayan Mia (25), brother of Harunur Rashid who died in the accident, Ekhlach Mia of Sylhet’s Dakshin Surma upazila and autorickshaw driver Limon (22). They have been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

According to the local police, six passengers of the autorickshaw were injured in the collision with the Sylhet-bound stone-carrying truck. When they were taken to the hospital, doctors declared both dead.

Stating that trucks and auto-rickshaws have been brought to the police station, OC Golam Dastgir Ahmad said legal action is under process in this regard.

Satkhira representative said that three people including a father and son were killed in two separate bike accidents in Sadar Upazila of the district.

Inspector Nazrul Islam of Sadar police station said that a young bike rider was killed in an accident on the bypass road in the afternoon and a father and son were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a trolley in Agardari at night.

Hafizur Rahman Bulu (58) and his son Azizur Rahman (27) of Baikari village died in a collision between a bike and a trolley on the west side of Agardari Madrasa on Kadamtala-Baikari road around 11:15 on Thursday night.

Chairman of Vaikari Union, Abu Md. Mostafa Kamal said, father and son were going to their home in Vaikari. They were killed on the spot in a head-on collision with a laden trolley when they reached in front of Agardari Madrasa on Kadamtala-Baikari Road. The trolley lost control and fell into the side ditch. But the driver escaped.

Inspector Nazrul said that the police went to the spot to recover the bodies of the deceased father and son.

Besides, Rajan Mohan Das, son of Prabhas Master of Kumira area of ​​Tala Upazila, died on the spot when he collided with an electric pole on the bypass road of the city while speeding on his motorcycle.
