Chhatrashibir Dhaka Mahanagar West has distributed caps, water and saline among the working people

Dhaka Metropolitan West Branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has distributed white caps, fresh water and food saline among the rickshaw pullers and common laborers at Agargaon Metrorail Station, Radio, Shishu Mela and Shyamoli areas of the capital.

The distribution program was completed under the leadership of Central Executive Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan West Branch President MA Zaman Bhuiyan and Branch Secretary HMS Mahmud. Leaders of Mahanagar, Sherbangla Nagar Police Station and Tejgaon College Police Station were present.

After the distribution, MA Zaman Bhuiyan said, intense heat is going on all over the country. The intensity of heat is gradually increasing. The intensity of heat is exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in different regions. Keeping the body cool and healthy in the intense heat has become a challenge. Low income people are the most affected by this ongoing heat wave. Despite the severe drought, they are coming out on the streets in search of livelihood. Especially the rickshaw pullers of Dhaka are in dire straits. Ignoring the intense heat, they have to stand under the open sky to catch passengers. The rickshaw pedals of these low-income people could not be stopped even in the hot sun. 40 percent of the capital’s people depend on rickshaws for their regular commute. They work tirelessly. Today we are here to put a little smile on the faces of those rickshaw pullers. Today we distributed white caps and fresh water among the rickshaw pullers and common laborers on the initiative of Islami Chhatrashibir Dhaka Metropolitan West Branch. The smiles on their faces at the little gifts charmed us.

The branch president also said that since the establishment of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, relief distribution, rescue work, tree planting program, distribution of winter clothes, free medical and medicine distribution, cleaning campaign, construction of dams, flood control, dengue prevention, for all. Through various social welfare programs including education, illiteracy free Bangladesh, sheltering street children, blood donation and blood grouping, the camp has been able to attract the attention of general students. If Chhatra Shibir can work without fear, then Chhatra Shibir will be found in the first queue to ease the suffering of every people, Inshallah.
