A coral fish weighing 26 kg 250 grams was caught in the net of a fisherman named Russel Mia in the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata beach in Patuakhali.

He sold the fish for Tk 32,750 at Kuakata Municipal Fish Market on Thursday afternoon.

Fisherman Russell Mia, a resident of Bablatla village of Kalapara upazila, said that on Tuesday afternoon, he went to the deep sea with his own trawler named Mae Doa. On Wednesday afternoon, he anchored the trawler in the Sagar estuary of the Baleshwar river and cast the net. After lifting the net late at night, he saw that a big coral fish had been caught.

Russel Mia also said that he returned from the sea at noon today and took the fish to the Kuakata Municipal Fish Market for sale. The weight of the fish is 26 kg 250 grams. Local businessman through open mail. Nasir Uddin bought the fish for 32 thousand 750 taka.

When asked, businessman Nasir Uddin said, ‘Normally such big fish are not available all the time. I went to the market and saw the fish and bought it. A kg of fish has fallen to 1 thousand 247 taka.

Apu Saha, the senior fisheries officer of Kalapara upazila, said that restrictions were imposed to protect fisheries in rivers and seas. The country’s fisheries are flourishing as fishermen comply with the ban. Catching such a large fish—that’s the benefit.
