Bangladesh and China’s military forces may hold a joint exercise in early May. China’s Ministry of National Defense reported the information on Thursday (April 25). In this regard, India says that they are keeping an eye on this possible joint military exercise between Bangladesh and China.

China’s Xinhua news agency says a contingent of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will arrive in Bangladesh in early May to participate in joint exercises based on the agreement of both sides.

The exercise is part of the UN’s counter-terrorism peacekeeping operations. There will also be special training. During this time, rescue activities, rescue of hostages, removal of goods from terrorist camps will be rehearsed.

Xinhua says that this is the first time that the military forces of China and Bangladesh are going to conduct joint exercises. China thinks that the relationship between the two countries will go further.

The question was asked at India’s foreign ministry’s weekly briefing on Thursday (April 25). Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in response to a question related to this, India is always keeping an eye on such exercises in neighboring countries or elsewhere.

Randhir Jaiswal said, I have expressed our position on this matter (joint exercise) many times. We keep an eye on all kinds of incidents in neighboring states or elsewhere. Especially if it affects our areas of interest, economy and security. We also take necessary steps in those matters. Source: Xinhua
