On Thursday night, a three-day high-profile music conference of Sadaranga was inaugurated at the Chittagong Theater Institute to the tune of Raga Kalabati.

The 27th Sadaranga High Music Conference has started in Chittagong.

The three-day event kicked off on Thursday night at the theater institute in the city to the tune of Raga Kalavati.

The conference was inaugurated by composer and music director Sheikh Sadi Khan, nephew of Surasmrat Alauddin Khan and son of Ustad Ayeet Ali Khan.

This year’s conference is dedicated to Ustad Rashid Khan.

Sheikh Sadi Khan said in the opening speech, “Those who practice high music have a unique personality. They can never be bad.

“We musicians owe it to Sadaranga for consistently hosting such a unique event for 27 years.”

Speaking as the chief guest of the program, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Shabbir Iqbal said, “Though the audience of high-quality music is relatively small, their quality is high.” Just like Rabindranath Tagore’s novel “The Last Poem”. Its essence cannot be savored by all, though the novel is readily available everywhere, including in the blue fields.

The opening session of the three-day conference was presided over by Professor Dr. Mustafizur Siddiqui.

After the opening phase, the second phase of the first day of the conference began with a concert performance by the student members of Sadarang.

The students performed the bandish ‘Mitwa Mora Ai Re…’ composed and composed by Pandit Swarnamoy Chakraborty, based on raga Kalavati raga.

The second episode started with Rajshahi’s Alamgir Parvez Suman performing Patdeep Raag. He then performed a thumri in Khambaj raga.

Instrumentalists were: Rajeev Chakraborty on Tabla, Bittu Sheel on Harmonium, Mir Mohammad Enayetullah Sani on Tanpura and Pallavi Barua.

Randhir Das of Chittagong tamed the rage with the flute. Later he performed a tune. Amit Chowdhury Deepta was on tabla.

Veteran musician Pandit Asit Kumar Dey hosted the Raga Malkosh and Jay Jayanti. His dardi alap, tan and sargam mesmerized the audience.

The second day of the conference will begin at 6:30 pm on Friday. The performance will include: Violinists Chittagong group performance, Rajeev Das (vocals), Mahamudul Hasan (violin), Arghya Chakraborty (vocals) and Shamim Zahir (sarod) from West Bengal.
