Mymensingh: There was a fire in a private car in Trishal district. A farmer’s league leader named Shamim Parvez (30) was killed. Another person was injured.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Thursday (April 25) morning.

Meanwhile, Phulpur upazila accident. Another person named Suruj Ali (70) was killed. The accident took place early in the morning on the Mymensingh-Sherpur highway.

Shamim Trishal Municipal councilor of Ward No. 4 among the dead. Azharul Islam’s elder son and former organizational secretary of Upazila Krishak League. He was active in Jubo League politics for the past few days.

On the other hand, Suruj Ali’s house is in Imadpur village of Phulpur upazila.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Trishal police station. Ashraful Islam confirmed the truth of the accident and said that Shamim, the leader of the Farmers’ League, was returning home from Mymensingh in a private car after selling fish from his fishery. He was with Md. A person named Nazrul Islam Deepak. On the way, the private car suddenly lost control and fell into the nearby ditch and hit the electric pole at Nuru shop in Trishal upazila. Jubo League leader Shamim died on the spot when the private car caught fire. His partner Nazrul Islam Deepak was injured.

He also said that the police recovered the body after receiving the information.

On the other hand, officer-in-charge (OC) of Phulpur police station. Mahabubur Rahman said that when Suruj Ali went out to pray Fajr, a speeding truck hit him at a place called Imadpur. He died on the spot. His body was recovered after receiving information.
