Polling will be held in 25 unions and two municipalities of the country on April 28. Bangladesh Bank has ordered to close the banks in the concerned areas on this day. An instruction regarding this has been sent to all the banks of the country from the Department of Offsite Supervision of Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday.
According to the instructions, the general election of 19 unions of the country will be held on Sunday (April 28) as per the notification of the Ministry of Public Administration. By-elections are scheduled to be held in six other unions on the same day. Besides, by-elections will be held for the vacant post of Mayor of Jaldhaka Municipality of Nilphamari District and Katakhali Municipality of Rajshahi District. For this reason, all branches and sub-branches including regional offices of all Scheduled Banks located in these areas will be closed on election day.
Union Parishad General Election List: South Hamchadi Union, Dalal Bazar Union, Laharkandi Union, Tewariganj Union and Bangakha Union of Laxmipur Sadar Upazila. Birol Union, Azimpur Union and Farakkabad Union of Birol Upazila of Dinajpur. On the same day, general elections will be held in Puthia Union of Puthia Upazila of Rajshahi District.
Besides, elections will be held for Kamalapur and Bhuria Unions of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila. General elections will be held in Amtali Union of Amtali Upazila of Barguna, Alipur Union of Satkhira Sadar and Kuti Union of Kasba Upazila. On the same day, voting will continue in Islampur, Islamabad, Jalalabad, Eidgaon and Pokkhali Union of Brahmanbaria Kasba Upazila.
List of vacant posts of Union Parishad for polling: Qutubpur Union of Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur, Golappur Union of Kachua Upazila of Bagerhat, Maijpara Union of Narail Sadar, Azampur Union of Maheshpur Upazila of Jhenaidah, Ariyal Union of Munshiganj Tongibari Upazila and Chikondandi Union of Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong will be held on April 28. .
