If the terrorists are not arrested, strict program of CIU

Chittagong: Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) held a rally against the terrorist attack on journalists in Chittagong while performing their professional duties. Journalist leaders demanded the administration to quickly bring those involved in the attacks on journalists from the assembly to justice.

On Wednesday (April 24) in front of the Chittagong Press Club, in front of the Chittagong Press Club, the speakers organized a rally organized by the CIU to protest the attack on journalists. Terrorists also attacked the journalist’s village house.

At this time, CIU President Tapan Chakraborty warned of strict action if the terrorists are not brought under the law quickly. He said, it is very sad that the terrorists have not been arrested. We demand immediate identification and arrest of those involved in the incident.

General Secretary of CIU. Shamsul Islam said that the terrorists tried to kill journalist Salim Ullah because he recorded a video during the clash between two terrorist groups in the double mooring area. Even though the police have arrested some people, they are out on bail and are once again establishing a reign of terror. Influentials tried to kill Sakhawat Alam while collecting information on illegal water trade in the port area. Also, the terrorists attacked and looted the village house of Chittagong daily editor Hossain Taufiq Iftikhar. We are concerned about safety in these incidents.

Acting Head of Journalism and Media Studies Department of BGC Trust University Bangladesh Yasir Silmi, former and current students of Port City University Journalism and Media Studies Department participated in solidarity in the rally.
