A student at the forefront of the protesting students of BUET said that they hope that the new date of the examination will be announced by April 30.

Abdul Jabbar Khan, vice-chancellor of BUET, told Prothom Alo on Tuesday, “The work is going on according to the decision of the Academic Council regarding the rescheduling of the examination date. However, I cannot say when the work will be completed.

Meanwhile, BLA’s strict stance on student politics was seen in Buet before Eid. Chhatra League held a protest rally at Central Shaheed Minar on March 31 to free BUET from the ‘black shadow’ of fundamentalist groups. After the rally, the leaders and activists went to the BUET campus and paid tribute to Bangabandhu’s portrait at the Shahid Minar of the campus. Chhatra League sympathizers of BUET placed flowers on the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Shaheed Minar of the campus. But after Eid, there is no such activity from any level of the government or the Chhatra League regarding BUET.

Chhatra League president Saddam Hossain told Prothom Alo on Wednesday that they want to set up an organizational structure of student politics in BUET by resolving the concerns and fears among the teachers-students and alumni of BUET. BUET students are under examination. Chhatra League wants students to have a smooth education. All in all, Chhatra League is proceeding with time on the matter of BUET.
