Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) member Professor Dr. urged the country’s universities to work towards the realization of the goal of building a smart Bangladesh by 2041. Md. Sajjad Hossain. In this regard, he also advised the country’s universities to lead new innovations through research. He made this suggestion while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop to ensure the updating of public university information as part of the implementation of e-Governance and Innovation Action Plan 2023-24. Director of Research Support and Publication Department of UGC Dr. Md. Under the chairmanship of Fakhrul Islam, the secretary of the commission gave a speech as a special guest. Ferdous Zaman. Md. Shaheen Siraj, Additional Director of Research Support and Publication Department, expressed thanks on the occasion. Professor Sajjad Hossain said that the website of the university is not updated regularly. Apart from this, the websites lack the necessary data to get a place in the global ranking. He suggested updating the information of all the indicators of ranking including research, innovation, teacher-student ratio on the websites of all the universities of the country. The workshop was attended by Dwijendra Chandra Das, Senior Assistant Director and Focal Point of Innovation Committee, IMCT Department of UGC.
