UGC urges universities to play a role in building Smart Bangladesh – Universities

Daily Shiksha.com Reporter : Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) member Professor Dr. urged the universities of the country to work towards the realization of the goal of building a smart Bangladesh by 2041. Md. Sajjad Hossain.

In this regard, he also advised the country’s universities to lead new innovations through research.

He gave this suggestion while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop to ensure the updating of public university information as part of the implementation of e-governance and innovation action plan 2023-24 on Wednesday.

Professor Sajjad Hossain said that the website of the university is not updated regularly. In addition, websites lack the necessary data to rank in the global rankings. He suggested updating the information of all the indicators of ranking including research, innovation, teacher-student ratio on the websites of all the universities of the country.

Director of Research Support and Publication Department of UGC Dr. Md. Under the chairmanship of Fakhrul Islam, the secretary of the commission gave a speech as a special guest. Ferdous Zaman. Additional Director of Research Support and Publication Department. Shaheen Siraj gave the vote of thanks on the occasion.

In the presentation by Dwijendra Chandra Das, Senior Assistant Director and Focal Point of Innovation Committee, IMCT Department of UGC, the Focal Point of Innovation Committee of 46 public universities and concerned officials participated in the workshop.
