Daytime temperatures will rise slightly across the country on Wednesday and the heat wave may spread further. On the other hand, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the night temperature may decrease.

On Tuesday, severe heat waves swept over 6 districts of the country. Although the maximum temperature in Dhaka is below 40 degrees Celsius, the city dwellers are not relieved. Like other parts of the country, the residents of the capital are panting in the heat.

The heatwave will continue even though there is no risk of temperature rise in the next two days. Meteorologists could not give good news of relief from heat in the remaining days of this month.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature in the country was 40.5 degrees Celsius in Ishwardi. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 38.5 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir said that from 9 am on Wednesday, in the next 24 hours, there may be temporary rain or thunder with gusts or gusty winds in two places of Sylhet division, and there may also be scattered hailstones at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky.

During this time, day temperature may increase slightly and night temperature may decrease slightly across the country. He also said that discomfort may prevail due to excess water vapor.

Tariful Newaz also said that intense heat wave is flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore and Patuakhali districts. Mild to moderate heatwave is moving over Dhaka, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions including Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Bandarban districts and remainder of Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions and may spread.

The Meteorological Department has also forecast that the day temperature may remain unchanged on Thursday and Friday.
