Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged Brazil to import Directly Made Garment (RMG) products from Bangladesh.
He said, ‘RMG products from Bangladesh are being exported to Brazil on a limited scale through third parties. It will be more cost-effective for Brazil if the country directly imports RMG products from Bangladesh.’

Sheikh Hasina made this comment when a delegation led by Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira met with the Prime Minister at his office on Monday morning.
After the meeting, Prime Minister’s speech writer M Nazrul Islam briefed the journalists.
Emphasizing the need to ensure trade balance between Bangladesh and Brazil, Sheikh Hasina said the trade balance between the two countries is leaning towards Brazil.
He also said that Brazil can import more products from Bangladesh including jute and jute products and leather products to ensure trade balance between the two countries.
The head of government said that Bangladesh mainly imports sugar, soybean oil and cotton from Brazil.
Sheikh Hasina said that there is a huge opportunity to increase bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Brazil.
He also emphasized the need to enhance the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Brazil.
