Bangladesh Embassy organized a seminar on ‘Made in Bangladesh Textile, Leather and Jute Products’ at Tokyo Big Site on the same day. In his welcome speech at the seminar, Ambassador Shahabuddin Ahmad urged the Japanese business representatives to import more quality products from Bangladesh.

Director and General Manager of Japan Textile Products Quality and Technology Center Kei Funaki presented a PowerPoint presentation on their business experience in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Embassy Minister (Trade) Ariful Haque mentioned the business opportunities for Japanese businessmen in Bangladesh and the services provided at the embassy. The seminar was organized with the support of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and UNIDO ITPO Tokyo.

In addition, on the evening of April 19, the Bangladesh Embassy organized an exchange meeting and networking event with the participation of business representatives, expatriate Bangladeshi businessmen and embassy officials at the Bangabandhu Auditorium of the Embassy.

Note that Japan is a very potential market for Bangladesh’s export products. Bangladesh’s exports to Japan in 2022-23 were USD 1.9 billion, significantly higher than the previous year. The participants of the fair expressed hope that Bangladesh’s participation in Fashion World Tokyo will play an important role in maintaining the existing share of the Japanese market and increasing exports.
