Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is sprinkling water through two spray cannons and 10 sprinklers on various roads of the city to prevent air pollution and reduce extreme heat waves. Every day from 10 am to 4 pm water is being sprinkled with modern technology machines. Each vehicle holds 15,000 liters of water and can spray continuously for 5 hours.
Cannon-1 started spraying from Banani Navy Gate on Tuesday (April 23) at 10 am. After arriving at the airport, Uttara House building and coming back to the Banani cemetery area, the work was completed.
On the other hand, Cannon-2 starts spraying from Mirpur Road or Mazar Road signal. Then Ganabhaban area, Manik Mia Avenue, Bijay Samari, Jahangir Gate, Prime Minister’s Office, Farmgate, Kaowranbazar, Moghbazar went to Gabtali and finished sprinkling water.
When asked about this, DNCC Public Relations Officer Maqbool Hossain told Jago News that two modern DNCC spray cannons are being used for sprinkling water on the road. The highway of the entire area under DNCC is being divided into two parts and water is being sprinkled every day from 10 am to 4 pm with such advanced technology machines. Each vehicle holds 15,000 liters of water and can spray continuously for 5 hours. Besides, there is a spring layer system for road wetting. It reduces the level of air pollution in the city; It is also helpful in reducing severe heat waves.
According to the information of the Meteorological Department, if the temperature is 36 to 37.9 degrees Celsius over a wide area for a certain period of time, it is considered mild, if it is 38 to 39.9 degrees Celsius, moderate, if it is between 40 to 41.9 degrees Celsius, and if it is more than 42 degree Celsius, it is called an extreme heat wave. is called
