In between, boro paddy harvesting has started in the expected low-lying areas of Bogra. Farmers have started harvesting paddy in several chares, Sonatala and Nandigram upazilas of Sariakandi upazila of the district. Farmer Samed Ali of Buruil Union of Nandigram Upazila said that the paddy has been very good. If the weather is good (no storms, heavy rains) then they expect a good harvest.
Matlubar Rahman of District Agriculture Extension Directorate gave the information that after the flowering of Boro rice in Bogra, rice ears have come out. At this time, most of the fields have got milik or milk in the rice, so the fear of cheetah has been removed due to high temperature.
District Assistant Agriculture Officer (Statistics) Farid Uddin said that 2 to 3 percent of low land rice has been harvested. In the next 10 days, paddy harvesting will start in full measure. He said this time the paddy is very good. There was no interruption in irrigation due to uninterrupted power supply.
