Shahed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer of Robi Aziat told Prothom Alo, despite the operators’ clear stance on the 3-day package, its discontinuation had a negative impact on customers and internet users. The customer gradually got used to the change. It needs to be considered how customer-friendly it will be if the three-day package is suddenly reinstated.

Banglalink Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman told Prothom Alo that Banglalink always supports something that creates a competitive environment in the market and at the same time is customer friendly.

After the issuance of BTRC’s new guidelines, the number of mobile internet subscribers has decreased for four consecutive months. Even in the space of one month from last December to January, mobile phone internet subscribers decreased by 21 lakh 90 thousand. Factors like BTRC’s data package guidelines, economic instability, impact of winter season, political situation played a role, operators said.

According to BTRC data, internet subscribers started increasing again from last February. During this time more than 11 lakh customers have increased. The total number of Internet users in the country is now more than 13 crore.
