Chittagong: The court has sent North District Chhatra League vice president Hasan Murad to jail in the case of beating up a businessman named Ahmed Hossain Sohel in the paddy field behind the Institute of Forest and Environmental Science of Chittagong University.

Chittagong Chief Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam court gave this order on Tuesday (April 23).

Earlier on December 24, Chittagong Senior Judicial Magistrate Nurul Harun court issued an arrest warrant.

Hasan Murad (33), son of Didarul Alam of Akmal Miyaji’s house, Dhopa Dighi, ward number one, Chikondandi, Hathazari police station.

The lawyer of the plaintiff in the case, Advocate Abu Sayem Mohammad Nasim Uddin, told Banglanews that businessman Ahmed Hossain Sohel applied for bail in the High Court in the case filed at Hathazari Police Station. The High Court ordered to surrender to the court within 3 weeks. But after 3 weeks passed, the arrest warrant was issued on December 24 as he did not surrender to the court. On Tuesday (today), the accused Hasan Murad surrendered and applied for bail. After the hearing, the court denied bail and ordered him to be sent to prison.

According to the court sources, Ahmed Hossain Sohel Haji Md. of Hathazari’s North Fatiabad South Pahartali Nandirhat area. Mocha’s son He earns his living by doing business in that area. Earlier, he had a dispute with the accused Hasan over business. As a result of that dispute, the victim Sohail filed a case against accused Hasan and 4 people in the Chittagong court on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder on the night of October 29. The court accepted the case and directed the officer-in-charge (OC) of Hathajari police station to take the statement. Following the court’s order, a regular case was registered against the four accused at Hathajari police station on November 15. Currently, the case is pending in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Chittagong.
