How long will the ongoing heat wave last, which is known

Apart from Sylhet division, heat wave is likely to prevail over 7 other divisions of the country today Tuesday. Moreover, this ongoing heatwave across the country is likely to continue till Sunday, April 28. However, there is a possibility of storm and rainfall in different parts of the country during this time. During the heat wave, the temperature is likely to drop for some time in the districts over which stormy rains will pass.

Mostafa Kamal Palash, a weather and climate researcher at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, told Bangladesh Pratidin by analyzing the forecast data obtained from artificial satellites and weather forecasting models.

Regarding the storm and rain on Tuesday, he said, there is a possibility of rain over all the districts of Sylhet division from 1 pm to 8 am tomorrow Wednesday. Especially Sunamganj and Sylhet districts are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain with lightning and hail several times. For the next 10 days, there is a possibility of light rain with lightning over the bordering upazilas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts almost every night, due to which the bills of Howar area of ​​Sylhet division are feared to be inundated with water from the hills.

After 3 PM to 12 PM, there is a slight chance of light to moderate rainfall with light thundershowers over some upazilas of Khagrachari, North Chittagong, Rangamati, Bandarban districts of Chittagong division.

After 5 PM to 12 PM, there is some possibility of light thundershower over some upazilas of Sherpur, Netrakona and Mymensingh districts of Mymensingh division. Rainfall probability is relatively high over Netrakona district.

However, there is no chance of the Kalbaisakhi storm passing over most of the districts of Khulna division from 1 pm to 9 am tomorrow Wednesday or any chance of rainfall. There is a possibility of isolated light rain for a very short period over some upazilas of Satkhira and Bagerhat districts.

At the same time, there is no possibility of the Kalbaisakhi storm passing over the districts of Dhaka, Barisal, Rangpur and Rajshahi Divisions or rains exceeding. However, there is a chance of light rain isolated for a very short period over some upazilas of Kishoreganj district.
