Dhaka: Ali Akbar Khan, the former chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, has been called to the Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) office for questioning after his wife was arrested in connection with the charter trade.
He reached the DB office on Minto Road in the capital around 11:50 am on Tuesday (April 23).
DB chief Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said that the wife of Ali Akbar Khan, the former chairman of the technical education board, was arrested due to the trade of thousands of certificates. After that he was made OSD from the post of chairman. He has been called to the DB for questioning. If his involvement in certificate trading is found, legal action will be taken against him.
Earlier on April 1, system analyst engineer AKM Shamsuzzaman was arrested on the charge of forging the certificate of the technical education board. In questioning him, the names of many small and big officials related to the board and the heads and principals of some technical schools and colleges of the country came up one by one.
Shehela Parveen, the wife of the board chairman, was arrested last Saturday. The next day, Sunday, the Ministry of Education issued a notice to the chairman as OSD.
