More workers from Bangladesh per Qatar

Dhaka: The President has requested Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of the Emir of Qatar to take more skilled and semi-skilled workers from Bangladesh. Sahabuddin

The President made this call while meeting the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who was visiting Dhaka at Bangabhaban on Tuesday (April 23).

President welcomed Amir Sheikh Tamim and his companions. Sahabuddin said that Qatar is an important development partner of Bangladesh. Amir’s visit is an important chapter in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Highlighting various opportunities including the establishment of 100 Special Economic Zones for foreign investment, the President urged Qatari investors to take advantage of these opportunities and invest in various sectors of Bangladesh including energy, machinery, IT, food processing.

In a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, several agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed between Qatar and Bangladesh, including energy, security and IT. The President expressed his satisfaction in this regard. He expressed hope that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will be strengthened in the future.

The President thanked the Qatar government for supplying LNG to Bangladesh. Sahabuddin also expressed hope that Qatar’s cooperation in various sectors including energy will increase in the future.

Ministers, Secretaries and Secretaries of the President of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present in the meeting.
