Dhaka WASA has taken up the free water distribution program in various spots of the capital under intense pressure. Bangladesh General Citizen Society welcomes this initiative and congratulates Dhaka Wasa. Joining the WASA water distribution program in front of the National Press Club at 10:30 this morning, the convener of Bangladesh General Citizen Society and President of Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumer Association Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the government has already issued a red alert in the country due to intense pressure.

He said that like Dhaka city, the people of the entire country have become sick and tired in the heat, especially the ordinary working people. While upper and middle class people can buy bottled water, the free water distribution program has brought relief to the public life when the laborers and common people are in dire straits for drinking water. Madina Ahmed Ahmed thanked the Managing Director on behalf of the civil society for taking such a great initiative towards Dhaka Wasa. He also expressed his gratitude to all the officers and employees of WASA who are involved in philanthropic activities.

He also said that the government should take the measures of treatment and saline for the citizens. At the same time, three other WASAs, City Corporations, Municipalities and local administrations have been called upon to take action nationwide with safe water saline and treatment, especially medicines. Similarly, he appealed to corporate houses and elites.
