Notice of closure of private diagnostic centers

In Chittagong, private hospital-diagnostic center services are closed to protest the beating of two doctors. Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Chittagong branch has announced to stop all services for 24 hours from 6 am today Tuesday to 6 am tomorrow Wednesday.

Yesterday Monday BMA Chittagong branch president Dr. Mujibul Haque Khan gave this information. Earlier, this announcement was also made from the human chain held to protest the beating of the doctor on April 18. Moreover, doctors observed a two-hour strike in public and private hospitals last Saturday as well.

Dr. Mujibul Haque Khan said, as part of the pre-announced program, services will be closed in all private hospitals and diagnostic centers of Chittagong from 6 am today Tuesday to 6 am tomorrow Wednesday. At the same time, the private practice of doctors will also be closed. However, the services of emergency patients and patients already admitted to the hospital will continue.

He said, doctors are repeatedly attacked. We don’t want another colleague to suffer such an incident. We want exemplary punishment for those involved in the attack on the two doctors.

Incidentally, miscreants attacked doctor Raktim Das (29) on duty in the emergency department of Patia General Hospital on the night of April 11. Two days later, on the morning of April 14, Riaz Uddin Shiblu, a doctor at Chittagong Medical Center Hospital, was attacked by his relatives.
