Khulna: Hot wind is blowing with intense heat. People’s life has been disrupted by the scorching heat and scorching sun.
Heat alerts are being issued one after the other. To get rid of such a situation, a special prayer (Salatul Istiska) has been offered for rain in Khulna.
This prayer was held at 10 am on Tuesday (April 23) at Shaheed Hadis Park in Khulna organized by Islami Andolan Bangladesh Khulna Metropolitan Branch. Khulna District Imam Parishad participated in it expressing solidarity.
Hafez Maulana Abdul Awal, Muhtamim Principal of Gowalkhali Cadet Scheme Madrasah led the prayers and prayers. Worshipers come from different areas of Khulna city to offer prayers.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh Khulna Metropolitan Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Uddin, Mufti Imran Hossain, Khulna District Imam Parishad Joint Secretary Maulana AFM Nazmul Saud, Publicity Secretary Molla Mirazul Haque were present at this time.
At the end of the prayer, a prayer is offered asking for the mercy of Almighty Allah for freedom from rain and heat. At this time, the worshipers shed tears and prayed for repentance and forgiveness.
The worshipers who took part in the prayers said that due to the severe heat and lack of rain, the agricultural land of Matghat is drying up. Farmers are worried about fruit production due to severe drought. People are tired in summer. Heat alerts are being issued one after the other. People are dying of heat stroke. Rain is very necessary in this condition. If it rains, the heat will decrease. Allah Ta’ala says to ask for rain or water through prayer. So we all prayed together.
Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Uddin, vice-president of the Islamic movement Bangladesh Khulna metropolis, who participated in the prayer, told Banglanews that the last few days of unbearable heat have caused the death of the poor. Shallow tube wells and irrigation pumps do not rise due to falling water level. People’s life is getting disrupted due to severe heat wave. Life is going on with endless suffering in scorching sun, extreme heat. Field crops are drying up. In such a situation, the believers have no choice but to ask Allah Almighty for rain and pray. Religiously it is called ‘Salatul Istiska’. People of Khulna prayed to Allah for rain today.
