Bangladesh has signed five agreements and five memorandums of understanding with Qatar. These agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed after the meeting between Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Shimul Hall in the Prime Minister’s office on Tuesday (April 23) at 11:00 am.

On behalf of Qatar, the country’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and on behalf of Bangladesh, representatives of the respective departments, including the State Minister, signed these agreements and memorandum of understanding. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani were present at the time.

The five agreements include mutual investment promotion and protection agreement, double taxation avoidance and evasion agreement, legal cooperation agreement, maritime transport agreement and agreement on establishment of joint business council between business organizations of the two countries.

The five MoUs include MoU on Cooperation in Diplomatic Training, MoU on Higher Education and Scientific Research, MoU on Cooperation in Youth and Sports, MoU on Manpower and MoU on Port Management.

Earlier, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani had a bilateral meeting with him at the Prime Minister’s office. He sat in a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Shimul Hall at 10:30 on Tuesday (April 23).

Emir of Qatar came to the Prime Minister’s office after 10 am. At that time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina welcomed him with flowers.

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit on Monday at the special invitation of President Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. President Sahabuddin welcomed the Emir of Qatar at the airport at 5 pm.

On Tuesday morning, the Minister of Foreign Affairs had a courtesy meeting with the Emir of Qatar. Hasan Mahmud. Later, the Emir of Qatar came to the Prime Minister’s office.

According to the schedule, President Sahabuddin will host a luncheon in honor of the Emir of Qatar at the Durbar Hall of the Bangabhavan at noon. He is scheduled to leave for Qatar in a special flight in the evening. The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh will see him off at the airport.
