Bangladesh and Qatar have signed 10 agreements and memorandums of understanding to increase cooperation in various fields including trade and manpower export.

This agreement and understanding was signed in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s office on Tuesday. Later, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar inaugurated the naming of a park and a flyover road in the capital’s Kalshi after himself in a video conference from the Prime Minister’s office.

The two countries signed agreements on avoidance of duplication, cooperation in legal matters, maritime transport, development and protection of mutual investment and establishment of joint trade councils.

Besides, Bangladesh and Qatar signed MoUs on cooperation in manpower, port management, higher education and scientific research, youth sports and diplomatic training.
It should be noted that Qatar is one of the labor markets of Bangladesh in the Middle East. Where about four lakh Bangladeshis are working. A large part of Bangladesh’s energy needs are met from there through imports. Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin-Hamad Al Thani visited Dhaka in such a good relationship.
