A seminar titled Secret to Success was organized by the Faculty of Engineering of American International University (AIUB). AIUB founding chairman Dr. The lecture series was held in memory of Anwarul Abedin.
The speaker of the seminar was Mr. Zahid Sabur, the first Bangladeshi Distinguished Engineer and Senior Director of Google and an alumnus of the Computer Engineering Department of AIUB. After graduating from AIUB, Mr. Zahid Sabur joined Google in 2007 as a software engineer on backend system development projects in Bangalore, India and for his next six months, he joined Google’s California office in recognition of his work skills.
Mr. Ishtiaq Abedin, founder member and chairman of the board of trustees of the university, was present as the chief guest in the seminar. Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University and Miss Shania Mahia Abedin, Member of the Board of Trustees were present on the occasion.
Mr. Zahid Sabur, former student of AIUB, presented his working life experience in front of everyone. Also discussed his current work area and future work progress through the use of long data and generative AI. Emphasizes the students’ patience and concentration for success. Discusses small achievements and experiences to set goals and achieve success in professional life. Advises students on balancing prioritization with planning for the past, present, and future while organizing themselves successfully. Emphasizes sharing knowledge for self-improvement, being content with what everyone has in life, being kind and respectful to every aspect of life. In a question and answer session with the students present, Zahid Sabu discussed how to overcome temporary failures and problems in the work environment, his limitations before succeeding, how technology will affect current work and the pros and cons of using AI technology all the time. He emphasizes subject-oriented learning rather than rote learning. Emphasizes the need for basic mathematical concepts and programming languages to excel in the engineering profession.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Professor Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain emphasized the hard work of students to fulfill their goals in life and in the closing speech AIUB Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman said that everyone has their own journey, success and failure to fulfill their goals in life and for that they have to push themselves forward.
At the end of the ceremony Mr. Zahid Sabur was presented with a commendation crest by Mr. Ishtiaq Abedin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees on behalf of AIUB for his valuable time and achievements in his professional life. Deans, directors, teachers, officials and students of various faculties of the university were present on the occasion.
