India-Bangladesh friendship is the most solid

Bhuiyan Ashiq Rahman: [১] Our economy and our time.com : Parliament elections have started in your country India. How was the first phase of the election?

Professor Dr. Ayanjit Sen, International Relations Analyst, Strategist, India: The first phase of elections has been held. Voter turnout was good. The election was peaceful except for isolated incidents.

[২] At the end of the first phase, who will be ahead or who is ahead of whom in this election?
Dr. Ayanjit Sen: What is seen is that the BJP is coming to power again in the state power of India. Bharatiya Janata Party will form the government. BGP won 303 seats last time, this time the number is likely to increase. Several polls have also revealed that BGP is going to form the government. The public reaction seems to be the same.

[৩] Why will people bring BGP back to power, where is the performance of BGP, why is it good? Congress could not speak for the people?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: What the BJP government has done in India in the last 10 years, there were many things after India’s independence, which the previous governments did not do. That place has undergone a lot of work in the last 10 years. As a result, Indians have learned to stand tall. Credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s strong position today. Family politics has taken the people of India for a while. There BGP came to power instead of Congress. BGP did not come to power, nor did it sit with promises, it has worked equally well. The place India stands today in the global scenario is not under any other government. That is why BGP is ahead of Congress in forming the government.

[৪] Bangladesh concerns about CA. Can India assure Bangladesh?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen : CA part is already cleared. There is no reason to fear or apprehension that any community will be harmed by CA. It has been clearly put forward by the government, now only the process is left. A fear is created here. Or tried to create a rumour. Whoever is doing this, they are masters of spreading rumours!

[৫] Bangladesh-India relations are historical. Do you think there is a balance between the two neighboring countries now?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: A story of two brothers Bangladesh-India. The story that basically started in 1971, which is still going on. Will continue in the future. In the last 10 years, the relationship between Bangladesh and India has become much stronger. Will be stronger in the future. There is no doubt about it. India’s bilateral relations with other countries in South Asia, India-Bangladesh alliance is the most solid.

[৬] Some complaints about solid alliance are always raised on behalf of the people of Bangladesh. Why is India reluctant to give fair rights to Bangladesh? Why is the Teesta agreement not happening, why are people being killed at the border? Why is India not solving the problem?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen : If the BJP government comes to power again, it is likely that the BJP is coming to power. We have to wait three months. Within the next two years, there are many small and big issues including the Teesta Agreement, border killings, especially the Teesta Agreement and border killings are highly likely to be resolved within two to three years. Many people will say that the problem that has not been solved in 10 years, how will it be solved in the next 2 years? Because the talks between the governments of the two countries have started again. Bangladesh government also wants Teesta agreement and border killings to stop soon. They want a quick solution. Government of India also wants it. Now waiting for the new government in India. Only then will the Teesta agreement and border killings be stopped.

[৭] There is imbalance between Bangladesh and India in various fields. Is it possible to build a balanced relationship between the two countries?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: The area of exchange between the two countries has to be increased in various fields. Both sides are working on this, I am pretty sure, people of both countries expect a dignified relationship between the two neighboring countries. You will see, slowly but in the near future the words imbalance, inequality etc. will not exist. The two countries will remain as brothers. Will be more by each other’s side. There will be more cooperation.

[৮] How is India responding to the campaign to boycott Indian products on social media in Bangladesh?
Dr. Ayanjit Sen: There is a campaign of Indian exclusion inside Bangladesh, but the real key is being moved from other countries. From two very distant states. Which two states? I will not say the name. I will not say that those two states are doing it, but some people there are doing it. A product boycott campaign is being done by some people here. They are being supported in all aspects.

[৯] Sheikh Hasina government has been in power for more than 15 consecutive years. How do you see the change in Bangladesh at this time?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: I first came to Dhaka in 2005-2006. Still, I have come to Dhaka many times. Let me say this, Dhaka city has changed. A lot has changed. There has been extensive development throughout Bangladesh. This development was actually done by the Sheikh Hasina government. Bangladesh will go further. Digital Bangladesh has become. Your present government has made great progress in the infrastructure sector. Economically, it is a wonderful development. Now Sheikh Hasinaji has announced the construction of Smart Bangladesh. The goal of a developed Bangladesh in 2040. Indians believe that Bangladesh is on the right track. The people of India will give all kinds of cooperation to build a better Bangladesh. India always stood by Bangladesh. will be

[১০] Some political parties in Bangladesh complain that India is giving unilateral support to Awami League. That is why Awami League is able to form government repeatedly with nominal vote or without vote. What do you say about this complaint?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: Look, India’s relationship with Bangladesh. It is natural that India will maintain relations with whichever government comes to Bangladesh now. India wants a stable government in the neighboring country. But who will come to power here, who will not come is in the hands of the people of this country. They will put in power those whom they think is good. India has no interest here. India always wants Bangladesh to prosper. Let Bangladesh move forward. Let there be a democratic government in Bangladesh, India will advance the relationship. It’s not about support, it’s about trust. A relationship of trust and confidence should always exist between the two countries. Then it will help to maintain peace and order in South Asia.

[১১] People of the subcontinent always show interest in elections or politics. But in recent years, people are losing interest in politics. There is such a thing. Is this correct? How do you see the reaction of the people of India to elections and politics?

Dr. Ayanjit Sen: Indians are definitely interested in elections. If there was no interest in politics or elections, the voting percentage would not have been so high. Because people know that even one vote determines the victory or defeat in the election. Overall people are still interested in politics in Ummahadesh. They love to talk about politics. Look at India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh and you will see the truth. Edit: Rashid
