--

Due to the intense heat of the past few days, the pressure of patients in government and private hospitals is increasing in Mymensingh. In Mymensingh Medical College and Suryakant Hospital, doctors are struggling to provide services due to the increasing pressure of patients. In addition to being aware, doctors are advising people to eat liquids to stay healthy this summer.

It is known that about 120 children are being admitted to the Children’s Ward of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital every day due to cold, flu and pneumonia. About four hundred patients are admitted in the 60-bed ward. On the other hand, 30 to 35 patients suffering from diarrhea are receiving treatment every day at Suryakanta (SK) Hospital, which is managed under the supervision of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Patients have to take care lying on the floor and balcony increasing the pressure of additional patients. And the doctors say that they are providing the best possible service by handling the patient’s pressure.

Taher Uddin and Afroza Akhtar of Muktagacha were admitted to the Children’s Ward of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with their two-year-old child Tanya Tasnim last Saturday due to cold and fever. Taher Uddin said the child fell ill due to frequent load shedding in extreme heat. Even after receiving hospital services, patients have to lie down on the floor due to excessive pressure. Thank God if the girl recovers quickly.

At Suryakanta (SK) hospital on Monday afternoon, it was seen that several patients were suffering from diarrhea and were receiving treatment. Among them is Shafiqul Islam (40), an officer of Krishi Bank. He said, diarrhea has started since last Saturday. I ate saline at home; However, on Monday morning, I suddenly got worse and was admitted to the hospital. Doctors have given saline and now I am feeling better.

Dr. in charge of Suryakanta (SK) Hospital. Pragyananda Nath said that the pressure of patients has increased a little more than usual in summer. Last March, 605 patients were treated with diarrhea; 655 people have taken the service this month. That means, more patients are taking care in summer than usual. Although the patient pressure is a bit high, we are providing services; We also have enough medicines. However, people need to be a little more aware of movement in summer.

Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Children’s Department Assistant Professor Dr. Biswajit Chowdhury said that most children suffer from respiratory problems, colds, colds and pneumonia due to excessive heat. More than hundred patients are being admitted every day. 374 patients are admitted in place of 60 beds. Due to lack of space in the ward, services are being provided on the floor and balcony. Despite the shortage of doctors and manpower, we are ensuring services to the best of our ability.

He also said that the parents will have advice to take extra care of the children as it has become too hot. Babies should be protected at all times along with liquid feeding.
