Motihar police station of RMP has arrested 3 robbers on charges of robbing mobile phone and bag with money from Kajla area of Motihar police station of Rajshahi city. Meanwhile, a stolen mobile phone was recovered from the accused.
When the accused were produced in the court on Monday (April 22) afternoon, the accused Ratan Ali gave a confessional statement to the learned court.
The arrested accused are Md. Anik Rahman (24), Md. Ratan Ali (23) and Md. Jiban Ali (25). Anik Rajshahi Metropolitan Motihar Thana Talaimari area Md. Suman Hasan’s son, Ratan Ali son of the deceased Shamim of Baje Kajla of the same police station and Jeevan Boalia police station of Talaimari Shahid Minar area Md. Bulbul’s son.
According to sources, Fahmida Sattar (39) of Bri-Salikha village of Bara police station of Pabna district is a resident of Kajla area of Motihar police station. He was walking towards Kajla Gate last April 20 at 8:30 pm. Meanwhile, 2-3 unidentified robbers from behind threatened him and took away his mobile phone and a vanity bag with 1000 taka in cash and went towards Kajla Gate. In view of the incident, a robbery case was registered at Motihar police station.
A team of Motihar police station under the overall supervision of RMP Motihar Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhusudan Roy started the operation to arrest the accused.
Later, the team of Motihar police station identified the accused by watching the video footage of RMP’s CC camera. Then the officer in charge of Motihar Police Station Sheikh Md. Under the direction of Mubarak Parvez, SI Hedayet Ullah and his team arrested the accused Anik from his house at 2.30 am on April 21, on the basis of secret information. According to the information given by the accused Anik, the other accused Ratan Ali was arrested at 3:30 am and Jiban at 4:30 am from their house.
Meanwhile, a stolen mobile phone was recovered from accused Jiban Ali.
The search for other clues is ongoing. When the arrested accused were produced before the learned court on Monday (April 22), the accused Ratan Ali gave a confessional statement admitting responsibility for the robbery.
