Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) imposed a fine of Tk 22,700 and seized 8 vehicles in 17 cases in two separate raids of mobile courts in Chittagong.
The operation was conducted on Monday (April 22) at Shikalbaha crossing of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway and Raujan area of Chittagong-Kaptai regional road.
According to BRTA sources, Mishkatul Tamanna, Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court-12 of BRTA Chittagong Division, led the operation in Shikalbaha crossing area. During this time, a fine of 16,000 taka was imposed in 10 cases for various crimes including driving without license and fitness.
A microbus, a tempu and four unregistered CNG-powered autorickshaws were seized in the raid for not having up-to-date documents.
On the other hand, the operation conducted in Raujan was led by Raujan Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Riduanul Islam. Meanwhile, he collected a fine of 6 thousand 700 taka in 7 cases. At the same time, two unregistered CNG-powered auto-rickshaws were seized.
