Salman F. Rahman said that during the Covid period, Kyrgyzstan has developed strong ties with the European Union. The country is exporting the garment industry to the European Union. They have expressed their desire to jointly export clothes to the European Union with Bangladesh.

On Monday (April 22) afternoon, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Avazek Akhanov, who is visiting Dhaka, held a meeting with Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F. Rahman at the Bangladesh Investment Building in Agargaon of the capital.

At the end of the meeting, Salman F. Rahman told reporters.

The Prime Minister’s private industry and investment adviser said, “There is an opportunity to increase cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, including the garment industry and education. Both countries want to utilize these opportunities. Also, both countries can work in the agriculture and technology sectors.”

Salman F. Rahman said that there are many opportunities to increase the economic relations between the two countries. About 1000 Bangladeshi medical students are studying in the country. The country expects more students from Bangladesh.

He also said that during the period of covid, Kyrgyzstan developed a strong relationship with the European Union. The country is exporting the garment industry to the European Union. They have expressed their desire to jointly export clothes to the European Union with Bangladesh.

Avazek Akhanov, the visiting deputy foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan, praised the ongoing socio-economic development of Bangladesh in the briefing and said that Bangladesh is making economic progress. He said, “The Kyrgyz Prime Minister wants to visit Bangladesh and has also expressed interest in hiring workers from Bangladesh in production-oriented industries.”
