If Bangladesh and China work together, both countries will move forward

Mushtaq Ahmed, Narayanganj: [২] An exchange meeting was held with Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB-TEX) and China Textile Engineering Society with the aim of increasing China-Bangladesh business development and mutual cooperation.

[৩] The meeting was organized at the head office of BKMEA located in Chajara, Narayanganj on Monday (April 22).

[৪] BKMEA vice president Fazle Shamim Ehsan presided over the meeting and on behalf of BKMEA, the organization’s vice presidents Amal Poddar, Morshed Sarwar Sohail, Akhtar Hossain Apurba, Mohammad Rashed were present.

[৫] On behalf of the Chinese Association, Mr. President of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh was present. Mike, Director of China Textile Engineering Society Mr. Mr. Wang Zheng, Vice President of China National Garment Association. Dean (Principal) of Yang Donghua University (The School of Textiles) Mr. Wang Xinfang. Besides, a total of 42 representatives of 31 organizations were present.

[৬] In the meeting, the Chinese delegates expressed the opinion that if Bangladesh and China work together, both countries have the potential to advance a lot.
In the speech of the President, Fazle Shamim Ehsan said, Bangladesh is the second garment exporter in the world but has not been able to maintain its position in the world market. China needs to meet that situation. Chinese technology is needed to improve workers’ skills. Then our factories will be more technologically rich.

[৭] Akhtar Hossain Apoorba said Bangladesh is largely dependent on China for industrial chemicals, raw materials, high-end fabrics as well as accessories to meet the needs of Bangladesh’s knitwear industry. But from time to time, disruptions in the global supply chain hamper the import process and ultimately delay the entire export process. In this case, setting up of bonded warehouses in Bangladesh by China will ensure continuous supply of raw materials and others to Bangladeshi knitwear entrepreneurs. It will be a win-win situation for both Bangladesh and China.

[৮] He said Bangladeshi knitwear companies, especially small and medium enterprises, are seeking funds for expansion and technological upgrades. Against this backdrop, Chinese investors experienced in the African textile industry may explore joint ventures and investments in Bangladesh’s knitwear sector to enhance bilateral cooperation.

[৯] Mr. Wang Jeng said, we are trying to bring the advanced technology of our country’s garment production to Bangladesh. We want to bring the technologies we have developed for the garment industry to Bangladesh and do business together.

[১০] Wang Jiafeng, vice dean of Donghua University’s School of Textile Faculty, said, “Our university continues to research the development of the clothing and textile sector. This visit will be helpful for us in BKMEA. The country has international standard universities for research on the same subject. So the two countries can help each other in exchange of knowledge.

[১১] Other organizations present at the meeting led by CAB included China Textile Engineering Society, CNTAC United Testing Service, China National Garments Association, Xinjiang Chemical Fiber, Jiangsu Gem Research Institute, Changzhou Misheng Biometric, Suzhou Jinming Technology, Yancheng Polytechnic College, American and Effard, Zhejiang. Fengling Group, Chongqing Printing Dyeing, Chengdu Textile College, Fujian Donglong Knitting, Fujian Huan New Material Technology, Impac Testing Technology, Shaojing Zhenyong Textile, Refong Equipment, Zamen Export Import Company, Napa Chemical, Shaojing Yangshi Textile, Zhangzhou Herui Additive, Quanzhou Hilun Weaving .
