Freed from Somali pirates, the Bangladeshi flagged ship ‘MV Abdullah’ has arrived at the jetty of Al-Hamriya port in the United Arab Emirates.

Mizanul Islam, media focal person of Kabir Group, the owner of MV Abdullah, told bdnews24.com that the ship arrived at Al Hamria port in Dubai at 7:15 pm on Monday.

At that time, the ambassador of the Bangladesh Embassy there, Mohammad Abu Zafar, senior officials and the officials of SR Shipping, which operated the ship, were present.

MV Abdullah anchored outside the port on Sunday.

On March 12, MV Abdullah was captured by pirates 600 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia on its way to Dubai with coal from Mozambique. The owner said that the ship and its 23 sailors were taken hostage at gunpoint.

After 33 days, the pirates left the ship on April 13 at around 3 am. Then the ship left for Al Hamria port in Dubai.

Then on the afternoon of 15 April, the EUNAVFOR Operation Atlanta mission tweeted a picture of the MV Abdullah being guarded and moving forward.

The Kabir group reported in their report that night that the UNAVFOR warship would escort the MV Abdullah until they reached a safe area.

MV Abdullah is en route to the UAE via the Gulf of Aden, crossing the Somali coast. Meanwhile, after the release, the ship had to cross the high risk area of ​​about 480 nautical miles.
