Barisal: Ordinary people suffering from intense heat. According to the Met office, the temperature was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius till 2 pm on Monday (April 22).

The situation in the hospital is even worse. In the last 24 hours, 560 people were admitted with diarrhea in different hospitals of six districts of Barisal division.

Doctors urged everyone to be careful in dealing with heatstroke by saying that there is no shortage of medicine anywhere in the hospital.

Mild to moderate heat wave is blowing in Barisal. Pedestrians looking for tranquility by drinking cold syrup. Such a situation has been prevailing for the past few days.

The temperature was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius at 2 pm on Monday. The local weather office has said that there is no chance of rain in the next couple of days along with further increase in temperature.

Common people say that they are not able to do their daily activities properly in the heat of the last few days.

A three-wheeler driver named Anis said, “I can’t drive properly because of the heat.” Many of our drivers have been sick and hospitalized in the heat of the past few days. Those of us who are working are not doing well.

A passerby named Shakeel said, we are tired of the heat of the last few days. I am buying and eating from wherever I can get soft drinks along the way. The heat is not decreasing. We are not able to do our daily activities peacefully.

According to the information of the Department of Health, in the last 24 hours, 560 people have been admitted with diarrhea in different hospitals of 6 districts of Barisal division. The number of patients is constantly increasing. Children and old people are being admitted with fever, pneumonia and diarrhea.

Director of Department of Health Dr. Shyamal Krishna Mandal called upon the people to deal with the heat in this situation. He also said that there is no shortage of medicines in the hospital.

344 medical teams are working in 41 upazila health complexes of the division including Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital to serve patients suffering from various diseases including diarrhea in summer.
