Private University Bangladesh University (BU) appointed as Pro-VC Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam. President and Chancellor of the University for the next four years. Sahabuddin appointed him to this post. The Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard last Tuesday.
According to the notification, with the approval of the President and Chancellor of the University, according to Section 31 (1) of the Private University Act, 2010, Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam was appointed as Pro-VC.
Being appointed as Pro-VC of Bangladesh University. Md. Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BU Kazi Jamil Azhar congratulated Jahangir Alam.
Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam started his career in the Directorate of Fisheries in 1983, joined the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute in 1985 and served there as Chief Scientific Officer for nearly 27 years. He joined Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University as Professor in 2011 and held additional duties of Dean, Head and Director. He won the National Award in 2009 for outstanding research achievements. He has published 103 journal articles so far.
