There is no need to worry at old age if you join the public pension system: Agriculture Minister

Minister of Agriculture Dr. Md. Abdus Shaheed said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has launched universal pension system for the welfare of all people. This is a unique initiative of the Prime Minister in public welfare. If one joins the public pension system, one does not have to worry till death. This pension system will ensure financial security during retirement and no one will have to reach out in old age.

The minister said these things at the public pension scheme incentive meeting and pension fair organized by the district administration at Moulvibazar District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium on Monday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Urmi Binte Salam presided over the event and spoke at the event, where local member of parliament Mohammad Zillur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Manjur Rahman etc.

Hundreds of people from different classes and professions including the chairman and members of 67 union parishads of seven upazilas of the district were present in the ceremony. Everyone present at the event was invited to come forward to plant a tree by giving a gift of a tree seedling.
