Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, ‘Bangladesh and Qatar will work together to develop the industrial sector of Bangladesh. Due to the business-friendly environment and policies of the current government, Qatar has shown interest in investing in various sectors including LNG and fertilizer in Bangladesh. Other sectors of industry are also open to them. In the upcoming visit of the Emir of Qatar, the mutual investment development and protection agreement between the two countries is going to be signed.

The minister said these things while giving an interview to the Qatari state television Qatar TV on the occasion of the upcoming visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin-Hamad Al Thani to Bangladesh at the Ministry’s office in Motijheel in the capital on Sunday.

The minister said that after independence in 1974, diplomatic relations were established between the two countries with the efforts of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Since then cordial and friendly relations exist between the two countries. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s two visits to Qatar in March and May last year have accelerated it. We are hopeful that it will reach new heights with the upcoming visit of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin-Hamad Al Thani to Bangladesh.

Interviewed by the presenter of Qatar TV. Mohammad Abdullah Bledah. At that time, the press secretary of Qatar Embassy in Dhaka, Hamed Jamil Hussain, along with related officials of Qatar TV were present.
